Turtles

Turtles are one of my favorite animals. There are about 300 different types of turtles. I will write about two different turtles,they are the sea turtle and the desert tortoise those are my favorite types of turtles.
First the sea turtle the sea turtle lays it's eggs on land then hurry to the ocean. The babies hatch 45-55 days after there mother lays them. Then there journey begins. they hurry to the ocean and catch a ride ion some seaweed. The seaweed takes them to the north pacific up by Alaska, and Russia. Most of them don't make it, the seaweed takes them astray to deserted ocean. the turtles that do make it go to the Caribbean. Then to lay their eggs they go back to their home territory.
second the desert tortoise. The desert tortoises scientific name is Gofherus agassizii. their diet is grass dandelions clovers and rose pedals. their habitat is grass lands gravely desserts and rocky pool sides. their predators are ravens fire ants, coyotes and roadrunners kit foxes gila monster. anatomy they weigh 8 to 15 pounds they can be as long as 9 to 15 inches they can be as tall as 4 to 6 inches
